Mentorship & Tuition

Over the years I’ve worked with photographers at all stages of their career to help better develop their voice through photography. No matter where somebody is at in their creative or professional journey, I’m a believer that the key to making one’s best and most meaningful work lies internally, It’s the uniqueness of your past and the process of your thinking which will make your work like nobody else’s.

My mentorship sessions are not a student to teacher transaction. My role with working with clients is about creating a safe and open environment so we can get to the heart of what you care about most. Once we find that, it has the ability to completely change the way we look at photography as a tool for telling important stories.

Sessions run for 60 minutes either online or in-person depending on the circumstance. Sessions are sold as five-packs for AU$780.

I’m available to work with you from project conceptualisation, production, technical advice right through to exhibition or the publishing of a photobook. I’m also available to assist with business strategy and industry pathways as building a sustainable practice is key to longevity in this industry.

  • During these initial stages we work together to find the essence of why you are making a project. In my opinion, the best projects are not only personal, they also have a social outcome. We will unpack your ideas and reference other artwork and texts, this will help you better position your practice. From here we develop your visual language and undergo the stages of making.

  • Once we have started producing work we undergo a series of exercises which include sequencing and analysis along with word association. This important step refines your photography and ideas. No matter how serious the topic, I believe this stage should be playful and intuitive. This process of experimenting often leads to unexpected meaning.

  • During the output stages we will work together to fine-tune the presentation of your project. This might be in the form of an exhibition, photobook, digital campaign, fund or awareness raising or more. We will consider what the most effective output and design a strategy which best aligns with your motivations.
